The first thing that springs to mind is his reputation as on of the best detectives around (known as Duke of Detectives), so any high standing criminals would see him as an enemy. However for the feeling to be mutual the criminal in question has to be intelligent and most of all extremely successful. I don't see Ashford being best friends with Fletcher (For now due to lack of plot development, we'll see how it goes.) but perhaps friends, they have quite a few trait similarities, from cheerfulness, must-finish-what-must-be-done, taking stuff apart, that kind of thing.

Perhaps they can work on something together? (Not rip-everything-apart-and-see-the-pieces project, but probably something close to that.) Or maybe Fletcher can be a client of Ashie's? I have a personal experience to take two days to look for someone to repair my real life pocketwatch. =_=;; "Oh, no, we don't do that kind of worksmanship here."

Besides, Ashie won't mind Fletcher's moods up and downs. See the company he keeps. (2 kleptos, a sexual predator and others oh my.) And he's also a chronic smiley in all sense of the word. (:

Honestly, though, if he's a detective, I imagine he'd get on Cy's case pretty frequently. I mean, he nabs things and then gives them to people as peace offerings. xD;

sorry about the whole name thing, its Steiner, definitely. I'm liking all the ideas here.

Ash: Best way to go, as you mentioned, is the whole dismantling stuff, maybe they know each other because Fletcher will trade trinkets with him, that they can both take apart. Another thought, this time about the pocket watch. An idea is that Fletch bough his favorite golden pocket watch from Ash and only trusts him repair it etc.

Cy: HE WRITES ABOUT ASTROLOGY/MYTHOLOGY well he does now. Something like he's already had a series of books upon the topic published under his pen name, and Cy is the closest to finding out his true identity. Although To keep Cy of his case, he catches him stealing things, although never reports him to the police, in a tormenting, but harmless way.

Rys: He's a freelance Detective, but its likely that he's done some work in the air force. Fletch is more than willing to do work for Rys in the air force, so a professional relationship is conceivable.
