the lower section of the spire is said to house an academy within its depths, where people were once trained in the art of magic. however, since the Last Rebellion magic has dwindled slowly, and so surely these are only rumors. Hidden academy or not, this ornate and majestic landmark is the defining characteristic of the city, and the gateway between the two. it houses businesses, shops, and any number of bizarre out-of-the-way knick-knack shops.
