HUMANS
Humans, oh humans. They seem to be everywhere these days!They're versatile, resourceful, clever, crazy, anything you like, really. They occupy all territories, all realms. They're high class, low class,middle class, anything and everything.
FAE
These are the traditional rulers of Avalon, mostly inhabiting the Upper City. Many of them are long lived and fair skinned, with a resistance to many types of illness. They're resilient, and intelligent. Many are quite aristocratic and noble, with a bit of haughtiness about them that is hard to deny.
HALFLINGS
A catch all term for anyone just a little bit in between. Gyptian and human, Fae and gyptian, so on. No real "special powers" persay, but special nonetheless. They've been traditionally marginalized, but have since become more commonly accepted within most social spheres.
GYPTIANS
These suntanned, marginalized people are- for all intents and purposes- physically human. However there are a few subtle differences that set them apart. Somewhere down the line, back in their past, they intermingled with a strain of the Fae possessingkeen sense for weather patterns. As such, over the years, they have become masterful traders. Living nomadically, they traverse New Avalon and the surrounding port and harbor towns in brightly colored boats- floating gypsies if you will, with boats instead of caravans. Its rumored these enigmatic people have a secret city offshore somewhere, but no one seems to have any concrete evidence. They're widely looked down upon by the higher classes, and are indeed at the bottom of the caste system. They're a mysterious race, all around.
